The "Butchertown's Animal Geographies" project uses digital mapping and topic modeling to explore the spatial and discursive development of the Butchertown neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky, which has been the site of slaughterhouses, tanneries, soap factories, and stockyards from the nineteenth century to present day.
